Elizabeth Shephard is the leader of the Encourage Kids to Eat Healthy Foods CoP content group. She works for the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences in Brevard County as the Family and Consumer Sciences Agent. She has been with Extension for 15 years teaching Nutrition and Food Safety. She partners with various groups in the community to reach diverse populations. In addition to partnering with outside businesses and departments, Shephard also works with other agents within the office on multiple cross-discipline programs. Shephard has a BS from Carson-Newman College in Nutrition and her MPA from University of Central Florida. Throughout the years she has presented at numerous conferences including National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, North American Association for Environmental Education, and Children, Youth and Families at Risk etc. She has received multiple awards including the Best Model Practices Award from the National Associations of County and City Health Officials for a multi-media food safety award. Shephard looks for creative and unique ways to promote healthy lifestyles.
