Nicholas Drzal, RD, MPH, Michigan Department of Education

Nicholas Drzal obtained a BA in Biology from Hope College (1994), an MPH in Human Nutrition (1997) and a RDN certification (2000) from the University Of Michigan School Of Public Health. Nick worked for three years as a county public health nutritionist where he implemented community-wide disease prevention efforts. Since 2003 Nick has worked for the Michigan Department of Education, where he worked for 5 years overseeing nutrition education and school health initiatives.  Since then he has served as Director of Michigan Team Nutrition, which is a USDA initiative designed to promote healthier school meals, nutrition education, physical activity, and healthier communities. His personal mission statement is to “build better organizations, programs, and teams – who are committed to improving the health, wellbeing, and wellness of others.”
